Questions About Classes
I’m out of shape, am I going to be able to do Pole or Silks?
Yes. This is a gym. We teach the foundations skills that you need for the fitness goals that you want to achieve. This foundation is key if you want to move on beyond the goal of fitness. As in choreography, competition, or performing.
Do I have to take my clothes off in Pole class?
Absolutely not! We ask that you come in clothing that is comfortable for you and that you are able to move around in. We do however have a dress code. Please no bootie shorts or bikini tops. Full coverage is applicable in every class offered.
Is there a weight limit?
No. Our equipment can hold up to 3000 lbs.
Where do I start?
Best place to start is our level one which is active flex. Level one would also be hula hoop, and poi. Level 2 is JW method, active hammock yoga, and dance classes. These are our beginner classes to build your foundational muscles. You need these foundation muscles to continue on to level 3 and four. These levels are adjustable to where we can add onto level 1 and 2 with additional weights, or higher reps. Level 5 is anything with full body weight to continue on apparatuses such as pole, silks, lyra…etc.
We are installing stall bars which is equipment anchored to the wall that can support foundation skills which is a level one to power training which is a level 5.
I can’t wait for me first class. What should I do to prepare?
To help your first class go as smoothly as possible, here are a few tips:
- Don’t use lotions/oils 24 hours prior to your class.
- Avoid upper-body workouts the day before.
- Get a good night’s rest and avoid drinking excessive amounts of alcohol the night before.
- Eat 60-90 minutes before class. Try not to eat right before class as your stomach may become upset with exercise.
- Drink plenty of water before and after class. Take sips often to stay hydrated during class. Too much water intake during class can upset your stomach.
- Bring a water bottle to class and a light snack for after class. Something with protein is beneficial to nourish your fatigued muscles.
I have a fear of heights, will I still be able to do aerial classes?
Many aerialist have a fear of heights. We start everyone on the ground and slowly make our way up to the top of silks/poles. Aerial Hammock is a great option to start with and build a relationship with aerial arts while staying lower to the ground. There are plenty of benefits to aerial arts, even if you don’t reach the top. You will never be pushed to do something you are uncomfortable with.
How long until I see results?
That one is a hard one to guarantee. You can feel results within an hour with some of our classes. Especially active flexibility. Mobility, soreness, appetite, better posture, better alignment, things like that. With consistent attendance you will see physical results in a few short months. It’s important that you understand that results are more than weight loss. It’s how you are feeling in clothing, posture, fitness, etc.
How often should I come?
It depends on what your body can handle. Everyone is so different. We recommend 3 to 5 times a week to start your foundation. We add levels as your body adapts. You are your own advocate. It’s important that you listen to your body.
Are you going to laugh at me if I look stupid?
No one looks stupid in our facility. Everyone looks as if they are learning a skill. Which they are. We hold the highest respect for anyone willing to put in the hard work required to learn all these different skills we offer. The only time you can look stupid, is if you don’t listen to our instructors, don’t mind the rules, and have disrespect for anyone or anything.
Will I hurt myself?
Any physical activity has a potential risk for injury. However we do our best to modify and progress with the best of our ability to keep you as safe and injury free as absolutely possible.
What if I am currently injured?
Start with foundation one, which is active flexibility, hula hoop and poi. Depending on the injury, we will ask for approval from your doctor to continue physical activity.
I feel really sick and stiff after my first class. Is this normal?
Yes, it is. Your body is going through a unique workout that it isn’t used to. Aerial and fitness classes are introducing your body to workouts that strengthen the tiny stabilizer muscles. Most of us aren’t used to using these muscles. Soreness is normal and can last 2-3 days. It is typical to feel sore in the fingers, forearms, back, and abs. On occasion, a flu like feeling may be brought on. If anything persists too long, please take some time off and/or see a doctor. It is also to be expected to gain calluses on the palms and fingers (mostly with pole and lyra).
What should I be doing in between classes?
Keep moving! This will help lower soreness and stiffness. Stretching before and after class will also benefit you. Be sure to drink plenty of water and eat as healthy as you can. During sleep is one of the greatest times for your body to heal and restore.
What is your membership cancellation policy?
- If you have signed up for a 3, 6 or 12 month contract there is a $200 early termination fee. Our memberships go on a month to month basis after completion and you may cancel with 30 days notice of next billing cycle. If your account becomes behind 2 months, your membership will be terminate and a $200 early termination fee will be charged to your account.
We do offer up to 3 months to be place during each contract without charge. Your contract will be extended the amount of time it was placed on hold.
Will there be people watching the class?
We don’t allow anyone to watch our classes if they have ill intent. On occasion, we do have new students that watch classes to get an idea of what they are. At times students family or friends will come to watch them. We ask anyone not to stay the entire class as it is a distraction. If at any point someone is being inappropriate or causing discomfort they will be asked to leave. Please let us know if you ever feel uncomfortable!!
Can I video or take pictures?
You are welcome to take pictures or video of yourself as long as it doesn’t interfere with class. Check with your instructor to be sure it is an appropriate time. DO NOT take pictures or video of anyone else in the studio without their permission!

Memberships & Account Management
How much are passes?
Our pass range from $35 to $150 (individual memberships) depending on contract length and how often you’d like to attend classes. Click HERE for membership pricing. We offer many options to help anyone on a budget, or with a limited schedule. On occasion we will run deals on our social media pages and emails.
You need to make sure you understand the contract and the contract fee. It’s $200 if you cancel early.
You can put your account on hold up to 3 months due to vacation, injury, sickness, etc. For those that are pregnant, we can hold membership up to 6 weeks post pregnancy, unless your doctor says otherwise. We then expect you to resume your contract from where you left off.
What is offered for both my children and myself?
We have classes specifically for kids ages 6-12. They will need to receive authorization from Intro to Silks to attend regularly scheduled Beginner Silks classes.
All other classes offered are for those ages 13 and up.
Do you offer continuing education for instructors?
Absolutely! We offer that through apprenticeship. Starting with our in house programs, JW method and active flexibility. These will assist you in building a strong teaching foundation.
How do I hold or cancel my membership?
You can place your membership on hold or cancel by filling out this form. We do require 30 days notice for cancellations.
Can I upgrade my membership?
Yes, at any point during a contract you may upgrade your membership. Fill out this form prior to your next bill due date. 14 days in advance is greatly appreciated.
Does Cirque Asylum offer Family memberships?
For families, we offer a 20% discount to each membership. To set the discount up, please read the following regulations and then use the contact form below.
Our family membership with some regulations:
- Memberships that are NOT eligible for discount: 5 Class Pass, 10 Class Pass, Month Unlimited, 6 Week Fitness Foundations, Single Class Drop In
- More than one family member must have an active membership to receive the discount.
- Each family member must have their own account with a signed Release of Liability Waiver.
- Accounts will be connected with a Head of Household assigned.
- Couples must be romantically involved and living together.
- All additional members of families must be dependents living at home. Dependents may live at home part time under an arranged shared custody agreement.
- Proof of residency may be asked at any point of membership.
Are any discounts available?
Occasionally, we do run special promotions on membership. We will announce them on our Facebook Page, Instagram and/or email.
We do offer a Military / Police / Firefighter discount. Contact us below for more details.
Are memberships transferrable?
No. We do not allow memberships to be transferred. You can cancel your membership or put it on hold.
