I have been practicing silks for about four years. I was looking for an activity that would be fun and would help me get in shape. When I started I thought I’d never be able to climb to the top of the silk, I could barely get off the ground
Performing is a great way to help me get out of my comfort zone and is a fantastic way to do endurance training. I have learned that no performance ever goes as planned. It has helped me to be comfortable knowing that things don’t always have to be perfect.
I enjoy being at the studio and seeing the amazing transformation of everyone who joins us. Everyone starts the same way…a little nervous and quickly humbled. Day by day they turn into these amazing strong flexible creatures. I love being constantly challenged – it is my escape from everything else I need to think about each day. I am especially grateful to be able to share this experience with my daughter.
Outside of the cirque world, I am a bit of a workaholic.
When I am not working or taking long walks with my dog, I enjoy boating with my family and golfing.
