I have been practicing pole for around 4 years now. I started out barely being able to hold on to the pole for more than a few seconds, but now perform any chance I get and find passion in instructing others in pole sport here at Cirque Asylum.
When planning out a performance I almost always start from song selection; find something that speaks to me, then go from there. I love trying to beat my last performance and strive to be better than myself the day before. I owe a lot of my success to my amazing family (traditional and cirque) for being a constant source of support and inspiration.
Learning and performing on pole and other cirque apparatuses has pushed me to the best physical and mental condition I’ve ever been in. I’ve gained equal parts muscle and confidence along the way, and am proud of them both!
In circus arts, everyone is a student. There is always more to learn, new goals to achieve, and new ways to express yourself. I look back at what I have achieved, and what I still plan to do, and am awe struck every time. Most of all- If I can do it, anyone can.
Outside of cirque I am a nerd! I love reading, movies, and binge watching Netflix. I am newly married, and am enjoying my new roles as a wife and a step mother to a couple of amazing kids.
