I started classes at Cirque Asylum about a a year and a half ago. This was my first exposure to the “cirque world” and I quickly fell in love with it! I decided to try a poi class and have been practicing it for about a year.

This will be my second recital. Before my first recital I never imagined I would be able to perform in front of other people. I’m inspired to perform so that I can challenge myself and show my children that I can do things that are hard and scare me.

Performing has impacted my life in so many ways! I have challenged my mind and body and met goals that once felt impossible. I’ve learned the benefits of teamwork performing with other people. Also, my self confidence has increased and I’ve been shown the importance of being proud of myself!

I would like other people to know how much I love circus arts! People of all abilities can participate and have fun! I feel like I have found a place where I feel accepted and respected. I love being able to challenge myself and do things I never thought I could do!

Outside of the cirque world I am a Preschool Special Education Teacher. I’m also the mom of a little boy and girl. I love spending time with my husband and kids, camping, playing games, reading and clearance shopping!
